Solid Oak Shelving:

For a corner wall

Oak-Shelving for a corner wall

*not for sale*

Stage 1: Fabrication of shelving

The space where the shelves in the home was measured and then the size was determined. We went with an Oak wood for strength, durability, and natural beauty.

Stage 2: Sanding

We 1st dissembled the shelve and sanded each piece with 80 grit, then 120 grit, then 220 grit, and then 320 grit. After each piece of the shelve was sanded, we then re-assembled the section and hit the edges one more time.

Stage 3: Adding Supports

To have a hardware-free look we went with an inner-frame concept and tested a few diffrent styles on this project.

Stage 3: Stain/Protectant Application

We ended up going with a True-Black oil-based stain. We ended up doing 2-coats to get the color we wanted for this original piece and an oil-based poly clear coat.

Stage 4: Final Product/Install

The fitting was spot on, and the color matched the vibe and personality of the room.
